one good chair — a study in looking

most people see a chair. designers see a chair — and then they see the legs, the pitch, the fabric, the finish, the way the light falls across the arm, the negative space beneath the seat, the proportion of back to base, the decision someone made about every curve.

this is a 14-page digital study of one object — a Troscan chair from the de sousa hughes showroom. it teaches you to see the way a curator sees. it moves through silhouette, material, joinery, proportion, light, and context. it asks you to spend ten minutes looking at a single photograph and noticing things you missed the first time.

it is not a design lesson. it is a perception exercise. the object happens to be a chair. the skill is attention.
